Salem Speaks Up: International Human Rights Day

December 10 is International Human Rights Day, commemorating the date that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948. The idea of Salem Speaks Up is to give members of our community the opportunity to voice their concerns on human rights violations, with an open mic.  This year, the program will start off with a presentation by Senator Deb Patterson on human rights issues at home and beyond, including immigration detention, restrictions on voter rights, restrictions on freedom of speech and assembly, and other issues.
